Legacy of Liberation Collective Retreat
September 4 - 7, 2025
As distinguished BBIPOC (Black, Brown, Indigenous, and other People of Color of the Global Majority) members of the psychodrama community, you’re warmly invited to join the Legacy of Liberation Collective. Arrival for participants is Thursday, Sept 4 at 4pm (for settling in to lodging before dinner at 5pm), until departure on Sunday, Sept 7 at 11am. We hope you will join us for an immersive four-day specialty retreat at the Whidbey Institute in Washington State.
Nestled in the breathtaking lands of the Lower Skagit, Swinomish, Suquamish, and Snohomish peoples, this gathering is a sacred space for rest, connection, and transformation. Together, we will be held, guided, and celebrated as we embark on a journey of initiation to honor our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls.
Rooted in the “Expanded Spiral” model developed by the Social Justice Committee from “The Work That Reconnects”, this retreat invites you to:

This retreat is especially made by and for BBIPOC psychodrama practitioners who are thrilled to hold space for the return home to ourselves and to each other. We’re delighted to resist oppressive forces by cultivating a stronger force of love for healing justice, collective liberation, and world rebuilding.
Traveling From SEA-TAC Airport
The SEA-TAC/Whidbey shuttle is a direct method of getting to the island. The drop off point, Ken’s Corner, is only about a quarter mile from the Institute and from there, easy for us to pick you up.
An alternative method is to take the Light Rail train from the airport to Lynwood Station. From there, transfer to the #17 bus to the Mukilteo ferry station. Walk onto the ferry and we will pick you up on the island side.
Service Animals
If you are bringing a service animal, we require documentation that certifies them as such. Otherwise, we can not allow animals on the premises.
